Fisheries Position Description:
Assists in conducting biological aquatic surveys to obtain information for management of fish, amphibians, macroinvertibrates, and aquatic systems and for the determuination, establishment and application of biological facts, principles, and methods, techniques and procedures for protecting, restoring and managing aquatic recourses.
Conducts recourse monitoring programs for evaluationg rare, threatened and endangered quatic speceis, population dynamics, ecosystem relationships, exotic aquatic species adn public helath/safety issues.
Assists in measurements of physical attributes of ;lakes and streams including water chemistry and temperature.
Conducts surveillance ot help detect invasion and colonization by non-natve fish species, adn the control of those species.
May operayte a variety of field equipment com monly used in fish studies, including small wtaercraft (up to 28 feet in length) , fish sampling gear including trawls, nets and electrofisihing equipment.

Seabird CTD Scan
Up to approximately 582 meters
Measured
Temperature (°C) up to 20.00
Chlorophyll concentration (μg/1) up to 5.00
Transmissometer, primary up to 100

Gill Net Fish catch
Prepared, deployed and retrieved gill nets along 2 collection locations: Chaski (single sinking net) and Eagle point (single floating) on Crater Lake
Information captured: Speciesm Fork lgentth, total length, weight (g), Sex and maturity. All rainbow trout stomachs checked for Crayfish- though no Crayfish were found in their stomachs form either collection sight.
Captured majorly immature (IM) Kokanee salmon males in Chaski
Capture majorly Rainbow Trout Females Mature for upcoming session (MUS)
Interesting finisings: Crayfish expanded their habitat to Chaski which is beyond previously known distribution for their speices.

Placing zooplankton with Carbon-14 and liquid base into 0m - 180m glass bottles, half clear, half blacked out with electrical tape.
Assembled the Net Primary Productivity samples of Zooplankton with Carbon 14 ‘cocktails’ which were descended into 8 depths up to 180 meters. This time around, there was not enough C-14 available to extend beyond 40 meters.
A filter apparatus was used to reduce the sample down to filament paper, which was evaporated of liquid over isopropyl solution for 1 min. The paper was transferred to a glass scintillation vial with a base solution to hold the radioactive material in place. Samples were shipped off to OSU for obervation.

Deployed a CTD for Fluorometr which measures 8 spectra of light, chlorophyll b, chlorophyll a, UV-B and UV-A spectrum, as well as one or two PAR spectrums.
Tool name: ECO Fluorometers and Scattering Sensors created by Sea-Bird
Above image: Area 13 is the primary location for deploying CTD and DO technology. Also nearby the weather tower I believe.
